Location
The Philippines belongs to Southeast Asia located in the western North of the Pacific Ocean along the Pacific Ring of Fire and just above the equator. This country is an archipelago with a total of 7,641 Islands. It has a total area of 300,000 square kilometers with a land area of 298,170 square kilometers and 1,830 square kilometers for its water area. History

Most of the Highest Government Institutions are located in Metro Manila.
Culture
Philippine’s culture has been influenced by the previous colonization. Its culture is a mixture of the east and the west. Filipinos are known to be religious and most of them are Christians. This religion was brought into the country by the Spaniards years ago. Since most of the Filipinos are Christians, Christmas and New Year’s are big events in the Country. Also, Filipinos are into fiesta celebrations, in honor of their patron saints. Like for example, in Cebu, they celebrate Sinulog in honor of their patron saint Sto. Nino. During fiestas, expect that there will be a Lechon (a roasted pig with crispy skin). Filipinos will always include rice in their meals. There’s never a day that they won’t eat rice. They are also into eating snacks a few hours after each meal.
